How to find us

You can reach Alcaidesa easily by plane from the international airports of Málaga (AGP), Jerez de la Frontera (XRY) or Gibraltar (GIB) airports.

AGP and XRY are both a 1 hour 15-minute highway drive away. GIB is a short 20 min drive away, but mostly offers routes to the UK.

To check the best option from your departure airport check Skyscanner or a similar offering.

For a vacation in Alcaidesa, we recommend renting a car. We use  Goldcar most of the time, as they offer good prices for decent cars and a  reasonably quick service directly at the airport (AGP).

Alcaidesa

Alcaidesa has a small town square in the centre which features a small grocery store, a pizzeria, a pub, and a wine bar.

Additional restaurants are in the vicinity and on the beach, which is directly adjacent to the square.

We recommend  La Vista (upscale) and DBlanco (chilled beach bar/  Chiringuito) with great tuna.

One of the best beach clubs on the entire Costa del Sol, the Trocadero Beach Club ,is in neighbouring Sotogrande.

Popular day-trip destinations

La Marina No. 8 is a perfect starting point to discover the south of Spain. Below are selected destinations for day trips::

  • Sotogrande, the meeting point of the rich and beautiful from Madrid is only 10 minutes by car or a long walk by the beach away. Here, you will find an impressive marina with many restaurants and bars, polo tournaments and most other sports options plus some of the most impressive villas in Spain.

  • Tarifa, the surfers´ paradise has a long and broad sandy beach and the best wind and waves for (kite-)surfers or those that aspire to turn into one. For a more laid-back visit, hang out at one of the many cool surfer bars on the beach or visit the historical part of town and port.

  • Gibraltar, the impressive landmark rock which is well visible from the house is less than half an hour away and well worth a visit (take your passport/ID!) for its rich history and British charm. Don't let the free-roaming monkeys on the rock steal your purse or lunch.

  • For a taste of traditional Spain, visit one of the many whitewashed villages like Mijas or Benahavis which line the mountain range of the Costa del Sol.

  • Marbella, the world-famous coastal town, is 45 minutes away. Right before you will find the equally well-known Puerto Banús.

  • Sevilla, the majestic capital of Andalucía, offers numerous architectural masterpieces with  Moorish and Christian heritage. It's a 2-hour drive away.
